They wrote the book to explain how material and emotional support is available from heaven as we strive to attain our life’s purpose and the things we desire. Broken into 11 chapters, each features a message from the Angels of Abundance, whose goal is to make sure one’s divine mission on Earth isn’t hampered by lack.

Whether it’s more money, time, ideas and opportunities, we can call on these angels for support and guidance, and this book explains how it works.

Is Modern Wheat Making You Sick?

By Cathi Stack, N.D.

Are you wondering why so many people are becoming sensitive to wheat? Isn’t it supposed to be healthy, especially if you are eating whole grain wheat?

The unfortunate truth is, wheat is not what it once was years ago. It’s now so genetically altered, the human body does not even recognize it. It has been altered in order to feed the masses (people, cows, chicken, farm raised fish, etc.), to grow faster and to be resistant to insects and drought. But this causes the body to react defensively, which results in the form of inflammation. I’m sorry to say, most individuals would benefit if they completely avoided wheat — even if they don’t have Celiac’s disease.

It is estimated that 90 percent of the North American population are in some way, sensitive to wheat. Gluten is a binding agent giving dough its stretch and acting as a thickening agent for soups, salad dressings and other commercially prepared foods.

If we lived in Italy, we may not be as affected by it, since they have banned altering of genetic modification (GMOs) in their food. If we did the same, many of us would be far less sick. In fact, as far back as the 1970’s, researchers noticed that when wheat (gluten) was removed from the diet, psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia would improve markedly.

By 1985, most of the wheat in our grocery stores came from a semi-dwarf strain that does not resemble the three-foot, amber waves of grain you may be thinking of from the past. Shortly after this altered wheat dominated our food, many of us became overweight. Also, type II diabetes and heart disease numbers soared (and still are) as this form of wheat acts as an appetite stimulant.

Did you know two slices of whole wheat bread raise your blood sugar higher than 6 teaspoons of table sugar? People who eat bread, crackers or other wheat products for breakfast, lunch and dinner are doomed to an almost certain issue with abdominal and visceral fat, as well as the likely diagnosis of Type II Diabetes. If you have already been told you are insulin resistant or suffer from metabolic syndrome, you are likely headed toward diabetes unless you eliminate wheat and curb that sweet tooth.

Since wheat is now an effective appetite stimulant, if someone wants to lose weight, this would be one of the most important ingredients to eliminate. Unfortunately, the obvious places like bread, pizza and pasta are not the only places it is found. Twizzlers candy, taco seasoning, frozen dinners and granola bars are just a few more hiding places. If you were a food manufacturer, wouldn’t you want people craving more of what you’ve got?

In practice, I have seen the elimination of wheat result in the resolution of gastritis or even Barrett’s esophagitis, and have seen thyroid conditions resolve, hair grow back, depression lift and even successful pregnancies after years of infertility. Other benefits include a reduction of appetite, joint pain, inflammation, blood pressure and triglycerides. Often, energy soars and sleep improves.

Unfortunately, many of my patients fail to see results when they dramatically reduce the amount of wheat consumed. It must be an all-or-nothing approach to be effective.  Your body cannot differentiate a crumb from a bagel. A crumb will inflame you just as much. Glutenfreegluten.com is an excellent and informative Website that will help you succeed at becoming wheat- and gluten-free.

I encourage people to experiment and try an exclusive month of eating wheat/gluten-free and email me with your results. Eat real, single ingredient foods, like Nuts, healthy fats, grass-fed beef, wild fish, organic chicken and turkey, and know your vegetable and fruit options are unlimited.

Editor’s Advice: The Universe Always Guides Us Back to Purpose

Have you ever followed a GPS, but accidentally took a wrong turn? Mine immediately kicks into gear to re-route me to my destination, with a voice saying, “calculating route.”

A few years ago, as I became more conscious and aware through meditation and spiritual practices, I began to recognize how the Universe, God or Source works the same way as the GPS in our car.

No matter how far you stray from your purpose or the higher path you are meant to walk along, the Universe never stops trying to re-route you and gently nudge you back.

When we look back on the events and subtle signs from our past through a process I call Following the Footsteps, we can all begin to uncover this re-routing. Even though we didn’t notice it at the time, the Universe actually had our back! Bestselling author, Marianne Williamson often says the Universe is “both self-correcting and self-organizing,” and I continue to see it happen in my own life.

For example, at 29 years old, after my first formal meditation training, I knew in my gut I wanted to work for myself (the first gentle nudge from the Universe). But at the time I had no clue what that meant, so I pursued the possibility of working on my own as a freelancer. However, nothing real came out of it (a small detour).

One year later, after working in the magazine industry for 10 years, I realized I truly longed to write on and cover topics I was passionate about, such as spirituality and self-help (another nudge), so I ventured out to find an established magazine or website to work for in this segment (another small detour). After months, I realized there were not many out there and certainly not on the East Coast where I lived. I even interviewed with a couple, but the fit just didn’t feel right for me.

One day I was chatting with a friend about my desire, and she casually suggested I start my own online magazine (hello Universe, my old friend). I laughed and told her she was crazy. But six months later, Elevated Existence Magazine debuted online with Deepak Chopra on the cover.

Even though I didn’t respond to that first nudge of working for myself by immediately starting a magazine and website, the Universe or God never stopped putting ideas and opportunities on my path. Eventually I got the message!

I’ve realized it doesn’t matter how far we may stray from our intended higher path, or how many detours we take on the road to our greatest purpose, because God never tires of gently guiding us back. Through signs, synchronicity and the nudges of our intuitive voice, we are guided, and when necessary, redirected.

The next time you feel lost, uncertain of your direction or in the midst of what seems like chaos, take a moment to still your mind, and ask the Universe or God for directions to the fastest and most direct route for the highest good of your soul.

Try this prayer:

  • Dear God, I’m unsure of what to do, what I truly want, and/or which path to take next. I want to do whatever is best for my highest good and the highest good of all those involved. Please open my eyes, ears, mind and heart, that I may recognize the signs and synchronicities sent by my guides, angels and spirit to lead me where I am meant to go. Thank you – Amen

No matter how many dark roads we travel down, or how far we stray, God is always traveling behind us with a flashlight ready to lead us back to love and purpose. It’s often as easy as turning around to recognize the light.

Meditation & Breathing Exercises May Help Allergy Flare Ups, Research Shows

Hay fever and other allergies could be made worse by stress, and some scientists believe meditation and breathing exercises may be the key to relieving flare ups, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

“Stress can cause several negative effects on the body, including causing more symptoms for allergy sufferers,” Dr Amber Patterson, from the Ohio State University Medical Centre said in the report. “Our study also found those with more frequent allergy flares also have a greater negative mood, which may be leading to these flares.”

Researchers looked at 179 patients over 12 weeks and monitored their allergies, and the study was published in the journal “Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology,” revealing the 39 percent who had more than one allergy flare-up had higher stress levels than the rest of the group.

Also, a number of those tested said they had allergy flare-ups that coincided with how stressed they were feeling. Researchers suggested meditation, deep breathing, and avoiding smoking and coffee could help keep stress levels down, and a healthy diet and regular exercise may also reduce symptoms.

“Symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes can cause added stress for allergy sufferers, and may even be the root of stress for some,” said Dr. Patterson. “While alleviating stress won’t cure allergies, it may help decrease episodes of intense symptoms.”
